Rustic Wedding Cake

Hello all!!

This post is slightly different than the rest of the cakes, that's because my sisters were back in Malaysia for holiday, and they gave me a hand with this cake yay! free labour!! so I had it done pretty fast as compared to when I bake alone. It is much more fun too!!

A friend recommended PFM to Sarah (the bride) a week before her wedding. Her initial baker had dengue and couldn't continue with her cake. It's such a beautiful rustic design that I enjoyed making with the help of my sisters.

It is a 3 tier cake 10" 8" 6" covered in layers of fondant and fresh flowers. It was a mock cake. The bride requested to have a "gap" to cut through the cake. So I did a little slot in the foam block and covered it with fondant so they could have the real "feel" as if they were to cut a real cake. I had to leave out the little round fondant so she would know where to cut.





I wished my sisters were always here, baking was so much more fun and meaningful. I truly cherish the short time we had.

Golden Age

Hello all!

I know I've been missing for many many months now, but nothing much has change with cakes, still baking and bringing pretty cakes to the table.

Some of you might have heard of the news, that we recently sold our Cafe business (Koru Cafe, Empire Damansara). The reason behind this is after years of waiting, we finally gotten our aussie PR! We are migrating to Sydney very soon! Will still be baking until end of this year, but this is not the end as for me, will definitely continue baking in Sydney :) and yes, will continue posting cakes on this blog and FB.

Anyway, back to this Golden age blog post, few months ago, I baked a baby blue ombre duckie cake for a baby girl that turned 1! I used buttercream for the cake icing and fondant for the other details, including the duckies!

Also, in the month of July this year, my dad turned 60! so I decided to bake him a cake of himself sleeping in front of the TV!

Basketball Cake

Hello all,

Today's post will be on a Basketball Cake ( Cleveland Cavalier & Warriors)  I made. It's a small chocolate cake with peanut buter icing, covered by fondant. 

I covered the board with brown fondant to mimic a basketball court floor along with the birthday's boy favorite team (players) jerseys.

Novelty cake ( Aircond)

Hello all!

Been pretty busy with the cafe, we just started  our new Breakfast menu, only available on the weekends for now.

This week's post will be on another novelty cake I have made a month ago. I was given the opportunity to make a huge Air conditioning ( commercial use) for their CNY dinner. Obviously, this cake will represent the product of the company.

Baby Boy Cookies

Rattle, onesies and the colour blue are part of the request for this cookie's design.

Salon Cupcakes


Happy monkey year everyone!! Finally with all the "pineapple tart rush" done, I am catching up with my other post. 

Today's post will be on cupcakes I made in January for our neighbour, Aizu, a Japanese hairdresser grand opening.

CNY : The year of the Monkey!

Hello everyone!

I am very far behind with my blog, that's because I have been stuck with pineapple tarts ( just over 3600 pieces!)and other cakes and I am only able to do it now as the cafe is pretty much quiet. Most of our regular customers are already on their way back home / balik kampung or on a nice ski field in Japan for one of them.

These pineapple tarts are melt in the mouth and in a perfect "one bite" size.




Each box consist of 36 pieces, and the boxes are shrink wrapped.


It was hard work, and time consuming, but at the end, it was satisfying and fun!! plus our customers were happy with it.

Chinese New Year is just 2 days away, stay safe for those who are travelling and may the year of Monkey bring you prosperity and HUAT AH!!!

Five tier Punjabi Wedding Cake

Happy New Year !!!

It's an exciting brand new year ! at least to newly wedded couples! :) 

Year end seem to be a "popular" time to get married. I believe many of you have been attending weddings too.

I have been busy with weddings in my KITCHEN too. Below is a five tier wedding cake for a Punjabi wedding. 


These wedding cake tiers are all covered in buttercream and fondant. The details are then carefully hand painted on. 

It was a challenge for me as I couldn't get the right blue initially as if has to be the same shade as the wedding theme. After searching high and low for it, I manage to get the right colour! Thank God!

Anyways, Chinese New Year's coming up so quick! We are still planning on cookies and cakes for CNY. Stay tuned and follow us on instagram / Facebook.
