Christmas Cookies

Hello everyone!

It's less than one month to Christmas. This week, I made some Christmas sugar cookies for sale at Koru Cafe. Pictures are as below.

They are simple cookies made with butter, sugar and a hint of vanilla flavouring. I then decorate it with fondant.

These cookies are then boxed in these beautiful Christmas red boxes with Gold or Silver ribbons. I've also done a batch of Hershey's Chocolate chips cookies.

Currently, we have sold all our Christmas cookies, but there are some chocolate chip cookies left. The new batch will be available sometimes end of this week.

Hello Kitty cake

Hello all, below's picture is a similar cake I've made a few years ago, but this time in a lighter pink. Hello Kitty 2D cake with 3D whiskers. I used Pepero for the whiskers. I used fondant for the ribbon and the rest of the design.

This cute 5inch round chocolate cake is frosted with quality vanilla buttercream and covered with pink fondant.

As I mentioned in my previous blog that I now bake all my cakes in my new cafe, Koru Cafe at Empire Damasara ( near Ikea Damansara) , we don't only serve cakes/ sweets, we do serve breakfast and lunch as well as coffee!!

Horse year baby!

Good morning everyone!

I can feel the holiday season coming really really soon! aren't you excited?

Anyways, a week ago, I was asked to make a one year old birthday cake. Baby Raguel was born in the year of the horse, so...they wanted a horse on the cake!

This moist yummy chocolate cake frost with light and yet rich vanilla buttercream is measured and assemble into a number 1 sign to resemble 1st birthday.I decided to make the name on a cube with pastel colors, simply because it's so soft and somehow represents a little fragile baby!

Next, I wanted to cover the cake board with fondant, but I wanted it to look dreamy and had more texture to it, so I went with the "blanket" look.

The little tiny flowers, I simply thought it was sweet!

Now the horse! I did enjoy making the horse very much. Arranging every strand of it's tail hair and round big eye!

Overall, this cake was about 12" x 9" after fondant deco. Its about 2 x 8inch square cake. Plenty of cake to eat!

Halloween!

Hello all!!

We have almost completed the year 2015 ~~and it's scary!~~ Christmas and the holiday season feels so close now! Before that, Halloween is another event that people look forward to and put in effort dressing up!

At Koru Cafe, we didn't want to miss out in "dressing up" too! We decorated our cupcakes in Halloween theme and gave out cupcakes for FREE with every RM 20 spent! My partner even named these cupcakes.
